Spanning over two decades, Joshua Lloyd has been a valuable healthcare asset for many patients who experience acute and chronic low back pain sciatica pain, and sports injuries. His experience has helped him become highly-knowledgeable and innovative when it comes to his assessment and treatment approach. Joshua says, "The cause of an individual's low back pain must first be identified utilizing very specific orthopedic testing before any treatment or exercise protocol can be initiated. In this way a bad low back can be solved". He prefers to work alongside other healthcare providers to help patients with their low back pain, arm and neck pain, headaches, jaw pain, hip and knee pain.

This is a short as I can make it because a lot has happened in a short period of time in my life, so I apologize for all the reading here, but if you really want to know more about me here it is:
-
In 1998 at 26 years of age Joshua made a big change in his life from working at high in end restaurants and building green houses to becoming a Registered Massage Therapy student (a.k.a. RMT). At 19 years old when high school was done, Joshua felt something inside him saying "you are supposed to be doing something amazing in this life". He was to become a crusader of natural healing. His life was always centered around drawing comic super heros and training and track and field, working out, nutrition and herbology.
-
Just to back up a little, in 1992 while attending an adult high school for biology and chemistry, Joshua met a guy who was all excited about learning RMT and craniosacral. Joshua became interested and persuaded this fellow to photocopy all of his RMT notes that he had somehow obtained from some RMT student who apparently was selling his notes on the black market, remember we had no Internet then. Craniosacral therapy was an easy fit. The years went on and the notes were lost and Joshua forgot about RMT college.
-
At 25 years old Joshua got out of the restaurant business and began to assemble large greenhouses as a way to pay the bills. But he knew in the back was mind that there was always something else, so what else is a guy to do before the Internet was around, go to the library and look up different trades, some ideas ways to become something in life. At first I thought robotics. Maybe that would've been a better to get involved in. But then I would never have learned all I know about health and wellness. The RMT program came up again in the trades magazine I was reading at the library and I figured it would be a convenient way to obtain all the health science information I was already interested in. All through high school astronomy, biology and bio chemistry were interesting to me, since the herbology books had so many different bioactive molecules that they were identifying in plants.
-
Joshua decided to dive into the RMT program and finish it. Joshua's background as a RMT and having graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy's (WCCMT) 3-year 3,000 hours program in Victoria, B.C. in the class of 2002 was intense (Joshua has since retired his RMT registration). Money was tight while studying at WCCMT and he had to live with cockroaches once and other inspirational stories that may be in a future autobiography. Even though the 3,000 hour RMT program pressed complex information into its students, with a 65% dropped out rate, we used to say to each other "they're dropping out like flies". The study pains had done wonders honing his palpation acuity and matching that with the anatomical topographic visualization needed to understand the human body. Joshua remembers how detailed the anatomical plates (paintings) were they had to study from the surgeon/anatomical artist Frank Netter, many plates of all different areas of the body had to be burned into our minds or we would fail; "That was the best curriculum for an RMT in the history of North America that lasted only 6 years before it was reduced to 2,200 hours due to the high drop out, and I was a part of it"
-
In 1999 while Joshua was attending RMT college, he came across a type of therapy that was very fascinating. Thai Yoga Massage is its name. And Joshua said that once he became an RMT he would revisit this therapy and master it. But it will be put on the back shelf for now until sometime after 2002.
-
As time passed practising as an RMT, in 2007 Joshua became very fascinated with Thai Yoga Massage again and was always wondering about the Sen lines taught in this oriental Indian type therapy and the overlap of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (a.k.a. TCM) organ meridian channels. But TCM was way over his head at this point and he put it on the shelf, thinking about it - not very often since it seemed overwhelming. Joshua converted his full-time practice to only practicing Thai Yoga Massage on floor mats and for now abandoned the Western style of massage therapy with the treatment table.
-
Joshua had heard about this Osteopathy while attending RMT college since one of the professors was an osteopath from Britain, but Joshua was not interested at first possibly because he did not like the instructor as he picked on Joshua a little during in class presentations that were already stressful enough. A few years passed by, then he heard about a friend who was wanting to take the Osteopathy program in Toronto to become certified. Joshua could not imagine having a friend around him who knew more than him, as egotistical as that sounds it's true. Joshua then suddenly became interested and searched out the best college for him and he found an excellent college taught by a Russian M.D., Neurologist by the name of Igor Norets. Igor then became Joshua's mentor. Joshua is now a licensed Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (OMP), graduating from Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy (SOCO) in the class of 2013. Interestingly, his friend never took the OMP program after all that. Just goes to show you never know where life can take you when you care a lot about becoming your best.

When Joshua was about 45 years old he began to think about the Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac.) 3 year program. He began to think about getting it done sooner than later because he was afraid that in his 50s he wouldn't be able to handle all the psychological stress of attending a course of this magnitude and working at the same time. He ended up graduating from the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver in 2024. Joshua recalls, "At times I felt that I could not go on, working seven days a week with all the exams and having to travel to downtown Vancouver on two buses, the skytrain and a 1 mile walk just one way, at times I didn't even have a chance to review the material more than once before the test, I honestly don't know how I made it through just glad that I did."
-
And if that wasn't enough, Joshua became interested in be a Certified Wholistic Health Coach (CWHC), graduating from the Institute of Wholistic Health in 2025 just for kickers. Joshua says "but seriously, I am mostly interested in becoming very healthy and teaching about how we all have amazing bodies with powers health and fitness activate, and of course chronic inflammation is huge these days and it is so important to know where it's coming from and how to quench the free radicals associated with it".
As you can see, Joshua offers a very unique skill set and he has been treating patience with hard to solve cases for many years now.
